About the job:

 

In this role, you will play a critical part in leveraging process automation and control capabilities to drive productivity and improve operational reliability across teams and regional production sites. This role is required to be based at one of the following locations: Salisbury, NC; Augusta, GA; Chattanooga, TN; or Axis, AL.


In your future role as an OT Systems Engineer, you will:

 

  • Leverage process automation and control capabilities to drive productivity improvements and increase operational reliability across teams and regional production sites.
  • Oversee all relevant aspects of the Operational Technology (OT) domain, ensuring best practices and standards are applied in both day-to-day operations and project execution.
  • Provide hands-on executional support to regional production sites and Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects, ensuring successful implementation of automation solutions.
  • Act as a key liaison between the central Process Automation & Digitalization (PA&D) team and regional sites, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for guidance and information related to Process Control System (PCS) and Safety Instrumented System (SIS) functionality at the sites.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for automation enhancements and driving their implementation in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and cybersecurity standards within the OT landscape.

 

We believe you bring:


Education:

  • Bachelor of Science or University Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Specialization or strong focus in Automation, Process Control, or Industrial IT preferred.
  • An advanced degree in Control Systems or related discipline may substitute for a portion of required experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in process control management and maintenance, including:
  • Loop tuning
  • Control system design and implementation
  • Batch and continuous control systems
  • Hands-on experience with industrial control systems is required.
  • Experience within the chemical or refining industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with process control system hardware, country-specific codes and regulations, engineering standards, and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to consult on technology alternatives and contribute to automation portfolio planning at manufacturing sites.
  • Direct involvement in automation project scoping, in collaboration with site and central automation teams, while applying corporate standards and guidelines.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Alarm Rationalization is a plus.

Skills:

  • Proven 5+ years of experience in the Operational Technology (OT) domain.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • A team-oriented mindset with strong cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Self-starter with initiative and the ability to work independently when needed.

 
Good to know:

 

  • This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Team Lead Regional OT in Houston, TX.
  • This role is required to be based at one of the following locations: Salisbury, NC; Augusta, GA; Chattanooga, TN; or Axis, AL.
  • Up to 30% travel may be required
