About the Job:
As an International Commerce Specialist, you will coordinate import and export logistics, ensuring shipments move safely, efficiently, and on time while meeting customs, trade compliance, and company requirements. You will work closely with internal teams, customs brokers, and logistics providers to manage international shipments from origin to destination while keeping safety, cost, security, and compliance under control.
In your future role as International Commerce Specialist, you will:
- Coordinate and monitor land and air freight import and export shipments from planning through delivery.
- Manage customs clearance activities and work closely with customs brokers and logistics service providers to ensure accurate and compliant processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable customs and international trade regulations, including IMMEX, CTPAT, VUCEM, and other applicable requirements.
- Prepare, review, and transmit customs and commercial documentation accurately and on time.
- Track and trace shipments and ensure the timely movement and delivery of freight.
- Coordinate with Production, Sales, Logistics, and other stakeholders to meet customer and business needs.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry, invoices, and shipment documentation in the appropriate systems.
- Monitor daily workflows and process controls to ensure shipments remain on track.
- Apply knowledge of hazardous products and their transportation requirements to support safe and compliant logistics operations.
- Independently troubleshoot issues and work with stakeholders, particularly customs brokers, to resolve problems quickly.
- Identify opportunities to improve customs clearance and logistics processes.
We believe you bring:
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Full English fluency is required.
- 3–5 years of experience in import/export operations, customs, and international trade regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Trade, International Commerce, International Business, Logistics, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience in international trade may also be considered.
- Strong experience with border and land freight operations; experience with air freight is highly valued.
- Knowledge of hazardous products and their transportation requirements.
- Knowledge of international trade compliance and customs regulations, including IMMEX, CTPAT, VUCEM, and applicable customs laws.
- Experience working with SAP ERP and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people across different functions and cultures.
- A continuous-improvement mindset and the initiative to identify and implement better ways of working.
- Willingness to work onsite five days per week at our Los Reyes chemical plant: Avenida Morelos No. 49, Col. Tecamachalco, Los Reyes, La Paz, Estado de México, C.P. 56500.
