At Nouryon, our global team of Changemakers takes positive action every day, to reach higher collectively and individually. We create innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers to answer society’s needs – today and in the future.
We are looking for team members who bring ideas forward, champion others and work together to do better. Does that sound like you?
About the job
You will support customers and distributors as they navigate their Biocidal Product Regulation (BPR) implementation using our active ingredients, while initiating technical and regulatory support projects with direct accounts and distributors. You’ll help build and oversee a strong pipeline of biocide opportunities and ensure that development initiatives, market activities, and campaigns translate into successful commercial outcomes. In close collaboration with Sales, you will contribute to value‑based selling in biocide applications and work alongside Regional Sales Leaders, Marketing, and Account Managers to shape both Account Plans and Business Development Plans that drive biocides growth across the Home & Personal Care business in EMEA.
In your future role as Technical Development Manager Biocides you will
- Assess and interpret market needs, trends, competitive activity, and product developments in the biocides market.
- Act as a key interface between Sales, Product Specialists, Marketing, R&D, and Biocides Regulatory and Administrative teams.
- Work directly with customers on technical and regulatory projects, introducing new products, concepts, and solutions with support from cross‑functional teams.
- Provide timely, effective responses to technical and regulatory inquiries through customer visits, calls, and email.
- Prepare customer presentations, conference materials, and training content for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Regional/Strategic Marketing, Business Development, Voice Of Customer and Competitive Insights on strategic initiatives.
- Develop Business Development Plans for biocide product lines and application areas, and partner with Account Managers on related opportunities.
- Identify, evaluate, and follow up on new growth opportunities.
- Coordinate samples and specifications for customers and test laboratories to advance technical and regulatory projects.
- Lead BPR‑related strategies, including the “Nouryon BKC Family,” and manage Letters of Access (LoA) processes.
- Support regulatory strategy and ensure alignment across the Home & Personal Care business line.
- Deliver seminars on biocide products and regulatory updates.
- Keep customers and distributors informed about regulatory changes, required actions, and deadlines.
- Participate in distributor review meetings, providing expert technical and regulatory input.
- Serve as the primary technical and regulatory contact for key accounts and distributors.
- Submit ideation proposals for assessment as potential growth opportunities.
- Represent Nouryon at relevant trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
We believe you bring
- 5–7 years of strong technical experience in microbiology, and preferably in biocides, giving you a deep understanding of microbiological principles, biocide applications, and related processes.

- A degree in Biological or Chemical Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in spoken and written English.
- Strong analytical and project‑management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, related digital tools, and CRM systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10–20%.
Great if you have

- Experience gained in a microbiological laboratory or technical support environment, involving regular interaction with external customers—preferably in an international context and within biocides‑related application areas.
- Additional regulatory or product‑stewardship certifications relevant to biocides or microbiology.
- Experience presenting at conferences, seminars, or technical workshops to internal and external stakeholders.
We believe you are
- Curious, with the ability to ask probing questions when engaging with customers. Self‑motivated, showing initiative to drive projects from start to finish.
- Open‑minded, receptive to new ideas and suggestions from customers and colleagues.
