Göteborg, Sweden Apply Now Apply until: 30 Sep 2026

At Nouryon, our global team takes positive action every day, to reach higher collectively and individually. We create innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers to answer society’s needs – today and in the future.

We are looking for team members who bring ideas forward, champion others and work together to do better. Does that sound like you?

About the job

In this exiting role as Business Development Manager Paper & Board, you will lead the technical and commercial advancement of Nouryon’s Paper, Board and tissue business in Europe. With ownership of key CMC applications, you will drive innovation, strengthen customer partnerships, and help position Nouryon as the preferred solutions provider in tissue and barrier coatings.

In your future role as Business Development Manager, you will

  • Conduct technical audits and diagnostics at Nordic key accounts and selected distributors to identify opportunities for CMC, surfactants and chelates (with focus on wet end tissue and barrier coating).
  • Work closely and support the Account Manager to develop and manage a strategic key account plan implementing innovation and enabling multi‑level engagement, thereby strengthening customer proximity and long‑term partnership.
  • Maintain regular technical and innovation touchpoints with key account R&D and distributor technical teams to align on project pipeline and application roadmaps.
  • Provide second line technical support and training for the EMEA distribution network, including joint customer visits and troubleshooting of complex cases.
  • Manage sales related KPIs for assigned accounts (volume, margin, price development, project pipeline value, hit rate) and report progress versus targets.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, and R&D to drive customer projects, technical development, and business growth. Externally, you will build strong relationships with paper mills, industrial customers, distributors, and customer R&D and application teams, acting as a trusted technical advisor and partner.

This role requires travel approximately 40-50% of the time, primarily across Europe. Occasional travel to the Middle East and North Africa, including Egypt, may also be required to support customer engagement, technical projects, and business development activities.

We believe you bring

  • Great experience within the paper and  board process industries, ideally in technical and application, process, or customer-facing role.
  • Proven experience in technical sales, or technical service, with direct customer interaction.
  • Hands-on experience with tissue, board, specialty paper, barrier coatings, or related applications.
  • Experience planning and executing laboratory and mill trials and translating technical outcomes into commercial value.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Paper Engineering, Chemistry, Process Engineering, or a related technical field.

We believe you are...

To be successful in this position you combine strong technical expertise with commercial acumen and can turn technical insight into customer value. You thrive in an independent role with a high degree of ownership, while also collaborating effectively across functions, teams, and countries. Structured and proactive in your approach, you value knowledge sharing, transparency, and strong teamwork to drive results.

We offer you

At Nouryon, we provide a great job and friendly coworkers, plus benefits in addition to salary. Our collective agreement is with IKEM. Plus, we offer unilateral perks, such as bonus, reduced hours, health care allowance, lunch allowance, and more.
