Investigating Corrosion Resistance Using Silica Nanoparticle-Modified Corrosion Inhibitor Formulations
We have now an opening for a Master thesis work targeting studies of self-assembly at steel surfaces using surfactants and colloidal particles. The primary objective of this research is to develop solutions that effectively mitigate corrosion in diverse industrial applications and thereby extending the lifespan of metals exposed to harsh environments exposed to heat, electrolyte, and acidic conditions.
Comprehensive experimentation and analysis will be conducted in controlled laboratory settings, primarily using electrochemical techniques to evaluate the inhibition efficiency and corrosion resistance. In parallel, advanced surface sensitive methods will be applied like quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring (QCMD) and potentially imaging studies. The study aims to characterize the structure, stability, and mechanical properties of the surface-active inhibitor films formed on metal surfaces.

30 Points Master’s Thesis: For a thesis worth 30 ECTS points, you will receive a payment equivalent to 60% of the current price base amount (prisbasbelopp). This reflects our appreciation for your dedication and effort.
Please note that the full compensation is disbursed when the thesis is finished and approved by the institution.
