About the job:

The primary responsibility of this position is to safely and efficiently operate plant processes and equipment in accordance with established procedures and standards. This role requires a strong sense of ownership in maintaining the reliability, efficiency, and integrity of all plant assets. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring that operations run smoothly, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and safety excellence within the facility. 

In your future role as a Chemical Processor, you will:

• Clean and maintain designated areas of the plant as directed by the Logistics Supervisor or Shift Foreman.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and round sheets to communicate routine and non-routine operational information to supervision.
• Train as a loader and provide loader relief as directed by the Logistics Supervisor.
• Perform required process control sampling and analysis.
• Follow all safety rules, procedures, and practices to ensure the safety of loaders, operators, maintenance personnel, and contractors.
• Assist with the handling of raw materials and water treatment chemicals.
• Store and manage product samples in accordance with site requirements.
• Receive, inventory, secure, and account for raw materials.
• Monitor the site for unauthorized access and report suspicious persons, activities, or items.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or their designee.

We believe you bring:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED. Post High school degree is preferred.
• Above Average Mechanical aptitude
• Good communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel) a plus.
• 1-2 years experience in a chemical manufacturing plant or equivalent and knowledge of DCS control systems a plus.
• Basic knowledge of chemistry and previous forklift certification is a plus

Good to know:
 

•  This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Process and Quality Control Manager and based in Axis, AL.
• This is a union-based position.
