About the job

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for preparing and prioritizing maintenance work orders by identifying required labor, materials, tools, and work instructions to support effective scheduling. The role involves developing and maintaining weekly maintenance schedules that align site priorities with available resources, while collaborating with the Gatekeeper and Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate maintenance activities. The Maintenance Planner also schedules and coordinates contracted maintenance work to ensure timely execution and completion of site maintenance requirements.

In your future role as the Maintenance Planner, you will

• Assemble job plan packages including permit requirements, materials, work orders, SWS, drawings, etc.
• Create/modify job plans for efficiency, resource allocation and other improvement on repetitive tasks.
• Review completed work orders for differences in planned versus actual hours to optimize planning.
• Create/modify maintenance related Standard Work Steps (SWS) where applicable.
• Create/Update Bill of Materials (BOM's) in SAP, working with Maintenance Supervisor.
• Review preventive maintenance orders (SAP plans, task lists, etc.) for proper format, hours, resources, work instruction and consistency.
• Field verify proper resource allocation and spare parts for planned work.
• Generate purchase requests for required materials in job execution.
• Work daily with Gatekeeper on job scheduling and prioritization while accounting for schedule breaks requiring schedule adjustments.
• Work with Gatekeeper and Maintenance Supervisor to develop weekly maintenance schedule to properly load balance labor resources and skill sets to ensure schedule compliance and execution.
• Work with Maintenance Supervisor to utilize proper SAP work order statuses to allow for efficient KPI reporting and work order tracking.
• Ensure Gatekeeper and Maintenance Supervisor are aware of critical (ISO, PSM, etc.) preventive maintenance work orders that are approaching due date. 
• Facilitate weekly scheduling meeting to ensure next week schedule is finalized. 
• Communicate daily with Gatekeeper and Maintenance Supervisor to ensure efficient scheduling meeting. 
• Organize and distribute weekly schedule with work order packages to Maintenance Supervisor.
• Work with Purchasing on scheduled jobs to ensure materials are available to ensure schedule compliance.  Adjust schedule as needed for items on backorder, etc.
• Provide reporting KPI's associated with maintenance planning and scheduling as required.

We believe you bring

• Minimum 10 years industrial maintenance experience including process equipment, utilities and facility maintenance.  This includes knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment and instrumentation. 
• SAP experience beneficial
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of personal computer software programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to plan, communicate, and execute maintenance jobs
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task.
• Must be hands-on
• Strong safety background.  Knowledge of Behavioral Based Safety is beneficial.
• OSHA PSM experience preferred
• Physical Demands- Employee must be able to work in plant and office environment 
• Travel as required
