Production Operator

About the job

 

As a Production Operator at our Battleground site, you will play an important role in the safe and reliable operation of our manufacturing processes. You will operate and monitor process equipment, troubleshoot mechanical and process issues, work with control systems and instrumentation, and help ensure our products are manufactured safely and according to quality and production standards.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys understanding how equipment and processes work, solving problems, and continuously learning.

 

 

In your future role as Production Operator, you will

 

  • Safely operate and monitor plant equipment and manufacturing processes in your assigned area.
  • Develop a strong understanding of process equipment, piping, instrumentation, control systems, and operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and perform minor adjustments or repairs when appropriate.
  • Handle hazardous chemicals and waste in accordance with site procedures and applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Follow and support SOPs, process safety requirements, quality standards, and HSSE procedures.
  • Participate in the site's Emergency Response Team (ERT/fire brigade).
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in departmental and cross-functional projects.
  • Assist with the development of operating procedures and training of other operators as your experience grows.

 

 

We believe you bring

 

  • Production, manufacturing, mechanical, or other relevant industrial experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how equipment and processes operate.
  • The ability to read, understand, and follow operating procedures, process information, and safety requirements.
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Willingness and ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
  • Ability to meet the physical and safety requirements of working in a chemical manufacturing environment, including wearing required PPE and a respirator and participating in the site's Emergency Response Team.

 

 

Great if you have

 

  • A two-year degree or certificate in Process Technology (P-Tech) or a related technical discipline.
  • Previous experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, process manufacturing, or another industrial environment.
  • Experience with process equipment such as pumps, piping, valves, instrumentation, control systems, or distillation processes.

Our Battleground site manufactures a complex portfolio of specialty chemicals, including metal alkyls used in the plastics and rubber industries and High Purity Metal Organics (HPMO) used in semiconductor and LED applications. You'll gain hands-on exposure to process equipment, mechanical systems, instrumentation, process safety, and chemical manufacturing operations.
