About the Job
As a Day Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations and ensuring production activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production goals. This role plays a key part in supporting plant performance, maintaining operational excellence, and driving a strong safety culture across the facility.
You will supervise hourly production personnel, provide technical support to operations, and help improve productivity, quality, and asset utilization. This position is based in a manufacturing plant environment and requires the ability to work 12-hour rotating day and night shifts.
In Your Future Role as Day Supervisor, You Will:
- Supervise and direct hourly plant personnel to meet daily production and scheduling requirements
- Set clear expectations for team performance and hold employees accountable to operational standards
- Provide technical support for new and existing manufacturing processes, troubleshooting issues related to raw materials, equipment, and scheduling
- Identify and support process improvement initiatives focused on increasing yield, improving right-first-time performance, and reducing cycle time and scrap
- Support asset utilization and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement efforts
- Train and develop hourly employees to ensure safe and effective operations
- Confirm batch sheets and process production transactions, including goods receipts in SAP
- Participate in project, operational, and cross-functional teams to support business objectives
- Provide information for production scheduling, inventory management, and cycle counts
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
- Enter maintenance notifications and work requests as needed
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and security (HSES) requirements
- Deliver safety training and reinforce adherence to plant policies and procedures
- Promote behavior-based safety practices and strong housekeeping standards to help prevent injuries
- Participate in incident and injury investigations as needed
- Serve as Emergency Response Coordinator when required
- Partner closely with the HSES Manager to support environmental controls, industrial hygiene, and employee health initiatives
- Follow applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and support site quality standards
We Believe You Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- College degree preferred, ideally in Engineering, Chemistry, Manufacturing, Operations, or another related field
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, chemical, production, or plant environment preferred
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred, including managing hourly employees
- Working knowledge of MS Office required
- Experience with SAP preferred
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a plant and/or warehouse environment
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights)
Additional Details:
This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Operations Manager and will be based at our site in Salisbury, NC.
