Working at the Chlorine and MCA plants of Nouryon in Delfzijl is all about process safety, process efficiency and process reliability. We are looking for a process engineer to strengthen the responsible team of process engineers.
Nouryon is the largest vacuum salt producer in Europe and one of the world leading producers in chlorine, caustic and its derivates as MCA (monochloroacetic acid), chloromethanes and metal salts.
Our success is based on the capacity, quality, reliability, cost control and innovation/ improvements of the processes. The technology department of MEB /MCA is continuously improving the processes and product (quality) and looking for a creative, enthusiastic and result driven process engineer to help drive these improvements.
Place in the organization
In this role you will report to the senior process engineer MEB/MCA in Delfzijl. You will be part of the Chlorine and MCA Technology community working closely with technology colleagues of other Nouryon production facilities and the Nouryon R&D center.
What will your responsibility be as a Process Engineer
As process engineer you will be working with engineers, operators, mechanics and plant management in process optimization, reliability and process safety. A job which requires an excellent and solid theoretical background, innovative mindset, people skills and (project) management skills.
Your tasks in this role
As process engineer you will contribute to the continuous improvement of the existing operational processes with the focus on cost reductions and process safety.
You will support the production department in reaching their daily and production goals by performing root cause analysis in case of process disturbances.
You will be leading improvement projects from the initiation/ development phase. This includes amongst others development of the business cases, process engineering to create a successful project, further automation of the plant and support during commissioning/ startup.
You will take ownership of these improvements all in good and intensive collaboration between the departments of production, maintenance and engineering.
Further you will play a leading role in the continuous improvement of the process safety of the MCA and Chlorine plants.
What will you bring?
• Master degree in process- or chemical -engineering
• Academic level
• Some years of relevant experience is a plus, but starters are also invited to apply

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis. The salary for this position is graded from €43000 to €70000. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
