Nouryon and Gasunie study scale-up of green hydrogen project to meet aviation fuels demand

Nouryon and Gasunie are studying an expansion of a planned green hydrogen unit at Delfzijl, the Netherlands. The feasibility study follows a deal to convert sustainable electricity into green hydrogen for SkyNRG. The plant could be scaled up from 20 megawatts to at least 60 megawatts – which allows for a conversion of 9,000 tons of green hydrogen a year.

Partners cast off for study on zero-emissions hydrogen shipping

Sailing from Nouryon’s locations in Delfzijl, the Netherlands to Rotterdam on green hydrogen instead of gas oil; this sustainable option is being explored by a partnership of Nouryon, Europe’s largest inland shipping cooperative NPRC, and NPRC member firm Lenten Scheepvaart. With the study, they aim to demonstrate that zero-emission transport by water is possible.

Nouryon-led consortium wins EU backing for pioneering green hydrogen project

A consortium comprising Nouryon, Gasunie and four other partners will receive an €11-million European grant towards their proposed green hydrogen project in Delfzijl, the Netherlands. The project is a front-runner among several hydrogen initiatives aimed at cutting carbon emissions and will be a significant milestone in the transition to a more sustainable, circular economy, the companies say.

Nouryon first to obtain ISCC PLUS certification for green monochloroacetic acid (MCA)

Nouryon announced that it is now certified to the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification standard ISCC PLUS for the production of green monochloroacetic acid (MCA) at its site in Delfzijl, the Netherlands. The Company is a leading global supplier of MCA, and the first and only producer of green MCA that is derived from sustainably sourced raw materials.

Signing of innovative energy supply agreement

Nuon is to supply flexible energy to three of AkzoNobel’s chemical production sites in the Netherlands as part of an agreement to purchase a total net volume of 1.5 TWh. The deal will allow AkzoNobel to take advantage of flexibility in its chemical production and its own electricity generation to balance fluctuations in energy supply to optimize costs.
