Cekol® CMC optimizes the performance of aqueous binder systems in lithium-ion batteries

Cekol® sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) are specifically suited for aqueous binder systems in lithium-ion battery anodes which are typically used in combination with graphite and styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) in anode coating to improve the binding strength of active graphite on the copper collector.

SBR alone cannot generate sufficient coating rheology and slurry stability for graphite powder. Therefore, applying Cekol® CMCs will provide excellent dispersion of graphite particles and homogenous distribution of the binder. Secondary lithium-ion batteries made using our carboxymethyl cellulose show high capacity retention in general, but also at high charge/discharge rates (C-rates).

Levasil® GB – colloidal silica for lead-acid batteries

Levasil® colloidal silica is an extremely cost-efficient and easy-to-use option for gelling sulfuric acid to obtain a solid electrolyte (gel cell) in valve-regulated, lead-acid (VRLA) batteries and for reducing the acid stratification in absorbed glass mat (AGM) batteries.

Gelling is the process by which a liquid becomes viscous and eventually a solid. With our Levasil® GB product portfolio we can offer consistent quality together with low levels of impurities and chlorides. Vital for high performance batteries that last longer.

Ketjenblack® - electroconductive carbon black specifically used for batteries and fuel cells

Our Ketjenblack® electroconductive blacks are used in a wide range of applications like conductive flooring, medium and high-voltage cables, and electrostatic paintable plastics including automotive parts
