About the job 

The Personal Care Technical Service Manager is a key customer-facing role responsible for turning Nouryon technologies into winning solutions in skin care, hair care, hair styling and other personal care applications. You will lead a small technical team, work closely with customers, sales and R&D, and provide hands‑on formulation support, application testing and technical training to drive customer success and business growth in the region.

In your future role as “Technical Service Manager – Personal Care (NEA)” you will

·        Provide technical applications and troubleshooting support for Personal Care customers in NEA.

·        Lead and develop the regional Personal Care technical team (e.g., in China and Japan).

·        Design and execute lab experiments to develop, optimize and test formulations, especially emulsions for skin and hair.

·        Generate technical data and demo formulations to support Nouryon’ s value propositions and new product launches.

·        Conduct application testing (performance, stability, sensory where relevant) and translate results into clear recommendations.

·        Collaborate with global technical and marketing teams to implement global/regional application programs and create relevant local initiatives.

·        Deliver technical presentations and training to customers, distributors and sales teams; support seminars and industry events.

·        Keep up to date with customer needs, competitors, patents and market trends to identify new application opportunities.

·        Maintain accurate documentation (lab notebooks, reports, formulation databases) and ensure safe lab practices.

We believe you bring

·        Post‑graduate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Cosmetic Science or related field preferred; Bachelor’s degree considered with strong experience.

·        Around 10 years of experience in specialty chemicals and/or Personal Care.

·        Proven experience in personal care formulation, particularly emulsions for skin and hair.

·        Experience with skin and hair application testing and formulation troubleshooting.

·        Experience working with biopolymers, natural formulations, emollients and natural emulsifiers.

·        Fluency in English (written and spoken).

·        Strong hands‑on lab skills and commitment to safety.

·        Good problem‑solving ability and capability to work independently.

·        Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills; comfortable with customer‑facing work.

·        Proficient in common software (e.g., Microsoft Office).

·        High learning agility and motivation to continuously expand technical knowledge.

Great if you have

·        Experience working closely with customers in a technical-facing role.

·        Experience supporting new product launches through application data and demonstration formulations.

·        Familiarity with global Personal Care trends, market needs, patents, and competitor insights.
