About the job

The Global Category Manager for our HR and Real Estate portfolio will lead a team of 2 persons and will be based in our Amsterdam office. You will be responsible for developing and executing global category strategies for the HR and Real Estate portfolio within Procurement, with a strong focus on optimizing cost, quality, and value. You will drive sourcing activities and manage a diverse supplier base across key spend areas such as recruitment and contingent labor, learning & development, HR services and benefits, facilities management, leases, and real estate services. In this role, you work closely with senior stakeholders worldwide to translate business requirements into effective sourcing decisions, actively manage supplier performance and risk, and ensure strong governance and compliance with global Procurement policies and standards, securing service continuity and sustainable value delivery.

In your future role as Global Category Manager you will

  • Category management
    • Own and continuously evolve global category strategies and execute multi-year sourcing roadmaps
    • Establish the right roster of preferred suppliers
    • Design and run sourcing events
  • Contracting & commercial negotiations
    • Negotiate and finalize contracts, ensuring terms and conditions meet business objectives.
    • Lead supplier negotiations and deliver a continuous sustainable productivity
  • Supplier Relationship Management
    • Run supplier relationship management (SRM) with strategic suppliers, monitoring Key Performance Indicators
    • Resolve high-risk escalations and manage contractual and reputational risks proactively
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Manage senior-level relationships to ensure alignment of procurement goals with business priorities
    • Collaborate with the functions to continuously optimize spending
  • Team leadership
    • Lead and develop team of 2 direct reports

We believe you bring

  • A Bachelor or Master degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of work experience in Category Management of Indirect Services Procurement with a preference for HR.
  • 2+ years in global indirect procurement leadership for related categories.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Deep understanding of procurement processes, category management and digital procurement tools.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal as well as in writing.

  • A permanent contract with a probationary period of 2 months.
  • A gross basic annual salary including holiday allowance based on your knowledge and experience between EUR 116.500 and EUR 140.000.

Good to know 

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, based in Amsterdam, with a travel component of 10% globally. You will be reporting to the Director, Procurement – Indirect who is also based in Amsterdam.
