Senior Regulatory Manager & Agriculture Focal Point

In your future role as a Sr. Regulatory Manager & Agriculture Focal Point, you will

 

The main objective of this role is to act as Global Business Partner to the Agro & Food Business which consists of 4 business lines (BL): Crop Protection, Crop Nutrition, Food Additives, and Feed Additives. This role will also serve as the Regional Focal Point for Canada and USA.

Key objectives include:

  • Support business growth targets by providing global and strategic product/substance regulatory advice to the Business Line
  • Collaborate with and guide the Regional PSRA focal points to ensure global coverage
  • Serve as Senior Advocacy Manager on relevant issues which may impact the business.
  • Proactively communicate relevant regulatory developments/trends that may impact the business line/s
  • Proactively monitor relevant regulatory developments/trends in North America and communicate their implications and evaluate strategic business impact for Nouryon

 

EVALUATE GLOBAL PRODUCT COMPLIANCE

  • Responsible for following up BL specific compliance concerns, in close alignment with PSRA management, Business Line management and Legal.
  • Provide regulatory expertise and coordinate a dedicated team of regional business line focal points.
  • Responsible for initiating registration / notification activities with the registration dossier managers/regional focal points and BL representatives.

 

PROACTIVE MONITORING OF CHEMICAL REGULATION DEVELOPMENTS/TRENDS

  • Monitor and interpret relevant (existing and developing) chemical regulations and assess impact on BL to provide strategic input to BL Management Team.
  • Manage BL substance specific concerns.
  • Evaluate business impact and coordinate with global PSRA issue managers for bigger concerns (e.g. Microplastics, PFAS, etc.).

 

PROVIDE STRATEGIC CUSTOMER SUPPORT

  • Act as senior advisor in answering (complex) regulatory enquiries from strategic customers and other stakeholders.
  • Provide regulatory support and participate in product stewardship activities with external strategic customers.

 

PROVIDE INNOVATION SUPPORT

  • Provide global strategic regulatory advice for the development and launch of new product offerings into applicable regional markets.
  • Coordinate with regional focal points/dossier managers.
  • Provide PSRA input and advice in the innovation process for the BL.

 

STRATEGIC ADVOCACY AND LOBBYING

  • Represent Nouryon’s business interests with North America authorities, taking care of the interests of the business by providing information and active participation in the law and regulation making process.
  • Developing industry strategies and action plans needed for e.g. risk assessment, implementation of new legislation and/or other regulatory affairs issues.
  • Represent Nouryon interests in the relevant industry Associations (e.g. ACC, CPDA, API, etc.) and actively participate in initiating, developing, and promoting industry strategies and action plans.

ISSUE MANAGEMENT

  • Act as ambassador for PSRA issues at the interface between authorities, industry associations and the internal company organization including Governmental Affairs, HSE and Legal.

 

We believe you bring

 

  • Chemistry or Toxicology PhD 8+ years of relevant experience, or
    M. Sc in Chemistry or Toxicology or related field and > 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Broad (and deep) background in chemical regulations, hazard communication and product stewardship
  • Keen knowledge of products/chemistries and applications of the business line or ability to learn quickly
  • Exposed to working and impacting globally, preferably in or close to a business
  • Experience from interactions with senior management as member of a management team or similar
  • Proven seniority in acting with other company functions or external bodies such as authorities’ regulatory requirements
  • Ability to explain regulatory demands in a concise and clear way for non-PSRA colleagues
  • Effective communication with Senior Management
  • Understands different perspectives from stakeholders, business priorities and risk
  • Demonstrate proactiveness in their leadership
  • Competence in aligning business line key colleagues to resolve issues and escalate when necessary
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency with a balanced message
  • Takes ownership to deliver on a task and solve problems for the benefit of the business
  • Aptitude to breakdown and digest complex regulations and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Strong chemistry knowledge in the agriculture and/or Industrial Chemicals industry.
  • Solutions oriented mind set with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills with the ability to engage people at all levels of the organization; Ability to resolve conflicts and building organizational alignment 
  • Highly effective with stakeholder management and capability to build strong relationship internally and externally
  • Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Preferred SAP EHS experience

 

 

 

Compensation Information

 

The hiring salary range for this position ranges from $120,700.00 to $172,500.00, although individuals may eventually progress through the pay scale in this role up to $224,300.00. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role as well as the individuals’ qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive annual bonuses.

Employees (and their families) will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are also eligible to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive paid time off and the mandated company holidays throughout the calendar year.
