About the Job:

Nouryon is looking for a talented Site Controller for our site in Pasadena, TX, who will report directly to the Regional Controller. This dynamic role requires regular collaboration with stakeholders across multiple locations and involves managing a team of four site controllers. As a trusted advisor to the Regional Controller and the site leadership teams, you will drive performance management and financial decision-making at the site. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial data, optimizing costs, and fostering a culture of accountability. This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in cost accounting and inventory control, capable of operating independently and engaging with diverse teams.

In your future role as Site Controller, you will:

Financial Leadership:
•    Partner with the site leadership team to deliver actionable insights and support strategic initiatives.
•    Ensure compliance with corporate policies, internal controls and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements for the site. 
•    Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization, from plant operators to other finance functions.
•    Provide training and support to site personnel to improve financial literacy and adherence to processes.

Financial Reporting and Planning:
•    Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for all assigned sites, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
•    Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes to drive cost efficiencies and profitability.
•    Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and profitability.
•    Perform thorough investigations, when needed, to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data, ensuring root cause analysis.

Cost Management:
•    Monitor and manage site-specific costs, drive cost-saving initiatives, and optimize financial performance.

Cost Accounting:
•    Support product costing and inventory valuation, ensuring financial transparency, related analysis, and alignment with production activities.
•    Conduct detailed root cause analyses to address cost variances and improve operational efficiency.

Continuous Improvement:
•    Identify and implement best practices to optimize financial processes and drive continuous improvement within the finance team and across the site.

We believe you bring:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (required).
• Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience in financial management and accounting (experience in the manufacturing sector is highly preferred).
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP or similar ERP systems (highly desirable). Strong skills in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Soft Skills: Proactive and independent, with an ownership mentality. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization. Strong analytical abilities, capable of managing stakeholders and influencing decision-making.

Additional Details:

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Regional Controller and will be based at our site in Pasadena, TX.
