About the job 

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and leading the maintenance team, planning and scheduling maintenance work (both routine and emergency), ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and managing maintenance budgets and projects. Key responsibilities involve troubleshooting equipment, performing preventative maintenance, managing contractor work, and coordinating with other departments to minimize downtime and ensure efficient plant operations.  This role manages a diverse team of skilled tradespeople, including millwrights, instrumentation and electrical (I&E) technicians, refrigeration technicians, scaffold builders, insulators, painters, welders, and pipe fitters.

In your future role as Maintenance Supervisor you will

• Supervise and coordinate all craft field work, ensuring timely and effective maintenance operations
• Manage and lead a team of skilled trades people, providing guidance, training, and support.
• Address personnel issues, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions for hourly employees.
• Develop, implement and maintain maintenance schedules and action items to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with other departments to align maintenance activities with operational goals and priorities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
• Conduct regular inspections of work areas and equipment to ensure proper functioning and adherence to quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, personnel issues, and equipment status.
• Participate in budget planning and cost control related to maintenance operations
• Assist in development and implementation of maintenance training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge. Ensuring that maintenance employees comply to all safety rules, assuring maintenance personnel are aware of and employing safe working practices and promoting safety programs and behaviors
• Ensure worked hours and other cost are registered in CMMS system, enabling verification of invoice.
• Other duties and assignments as directed by the Maintenance Manager.

HEALTH, SAFETY,  SECURITY & ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand and help implement the site’s Operating Policy, and HSSE goals and objectives.

• Support and participate in on-going HSSE improvement activities and committees.
• Be aware of potential health, safety, security and environmental impacts areas

QUALITY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be fully aware of your specific quality assurance responsibilities.
• Be familiar with sitewide document control, internal quality audits, corrective action, non-conforming product and record keeping procedures.
• Be sure employees under supervision, if applicable, are aware of and are adequately trained in quality procedures.

We believe you bring

• High School Diploma
• SAP knowledge
• 5-7 years of supervisor’s experience in a plant setting
• Able to read, write and communicate in English
