Our Levasil BF products are used in combination with gelatin, or other vegan alternatives based on pea or soy, for clarification of wine, must and fruit juices. Levasil Colloidal Silica gives a faster flocculation reaction and lower volume of more dense sediments compared to e.g. bentonite. All products recommended for wine and must applications meet the International Oenological Codex.
In beer production our Levasil BF is added on its own to improve flocculation. This can be done both for clarifying the wort, where it flocculates cationic species such as proteins, and to enhance flocculation of the yeast after fermentation. The formed flocs sediment fast and form a compact sediment resulting in increased productivity.
Our portfolio of Akucell and Cekol cellulose gums will improve the quality of numerous beverage products such as hot chocolate, fruit-flavored and protein drinks.

Ferric sodium EDTA, Ferrazone, is a form of iron that is readily absorbed by the body, making it a safe and effective way to prevent and treat iron deficiency anemia through the fortification of food products. It is primarily used to fortify foods that are stored in dry form. Powdered drinks and ready-to-serve lemonades such as cola and beer; and functional foods like sports drinks are good targets for iron fortification with Ferrazone.
Trace metals ions cause several spoilage reactions in food and beverages and degrade both quality and shelf life. Solvitar, our high-purity food-grade chelate, forms a stable complex with the trace metal ions and prevents against undesirable food spoilage reactions without influencing taste or quality. In soft drinks, the addition of Solvitar can support vitamin C stabilization and minimize color fading and flavor loss. In beer, Solvitar reduces gushing and promotes clarity.
Today, when sustainability and green values are the key drivers in product innovations, CEKOL® cellulose gum is a preferred choice as a bio-based and biodegradable hydrocolloid. The raw material selection and adjustment of the production process steps makes it possible to tailor specific CEKOL grade’s functionality to different applications. CEKOL Cellulose Gum is a water-soluble polymer derived from wood or cotton cellulose and produced to minimum 99.5% purity. Products manufactured from wood cellulose are fulfilling the GMO-free requirements. The product hydrates and dissolves readily in hot and cold water. By choosing the right CEKOL type, the formulator can achieve the desired rheology for any aqueous system, including suspensions and emulsions. Levasil colloidal silica
Levasil BF36 AM is an alkaline, aqueous dispersion of colloidal silica that is approximately 25% solids by weight. The silica dispersion is sodium stabilized and the amorphous silica particles carry a highly negative surface charge. The silica particles are discrete, have a smooth, spherical shape, and are present in a narrow particle size distribution. The particles have also been surface modified with aluminum. The physical appearance of the dispersion is a clear liquid, slightly more viscous than water. Levasil BF36 AM is produced for world-wide distribution.Read more
