We produce everyday essentials for the global polymer industries and are among the world’s leading producers of organic peroxides and auxiliaries for the Thermoset market, which are essential ingredients for the composite industries. We are widely known for our world-class products, including Butanox®, Trigonox®, and Perkadox®.

One of the highlighted products for this year is Butanox^® M-50, a well-established ketone peroxide used for curing unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins for thermoset applications such as gelcoats and laminating resins, just to name a few. The colored grades under the name Vanishing Red are increasingly important for optimizing production cycles and costs. Nouryon’s portfolio also includes several MEKP blends to reduce peak exotherms in thick laminates, allowing our customers to further customize and control their processes.

In addition, in recent years, Nouryon developed novel Cobalt-free accelerators for thermoset applications, replacing conventional cobalt-carboxylates, which are under pressure for reclassification under REACH, by alternatives that provide above industry standard properties. These innovative developments are key to improving the sustainability profile of cure systems and present advantages in several applications, such as curing laminates based on bio-based fibers.
