Nouryon raises the bar for personal care standards with launch of Structure® M3 co-surfactant at 2024 in-cosmetics Global event

Nouryon announced the launch of a new biodegradable personal care technology, Structure® M3 co-surfactant at the 2024 in-cosmetics Global event in Paris, France. This new innovation enhances the functionality and appeal of a wide range of personal care formulations and was developed in response to consumers’ increasing preference for more natural and milder ingredients.

Structure® M3 co-surfactant significantly reduces the irritation potential of commonly used surfactant systems, offering customers the optimal balance of mildness, cleansing, and foaming in shampoo, facial cleanser, and body wash formulations. Designed with sustainability in mind, it is available as a waterless, free-flowing powder of high natural content (NOI1 = 85), and it is readily biodegradable (per OECD 301B2). Additionally, it is cold-water processable and compatible with both sulfate- and sulfate-free surfactant systems. Structure® M3 co-surfactant will be showcased in the Innovation Zone at in-cosmetics® Global.

Structure® M3 co-surfactant is the latest in a series of more natural products introduced by Nouryon for the personal care end-market. These include SolAmaze® Natural solution, a biobased, biodegradable, film-former that offers superior water resistance for high SPF emulsion sunscreens, Amaze® Nordic Barley, a certified natural starch that is used to replace synthetic ingredients in skin and hair care products, and Amaze® SP aesthetic modifier, a 100% biobased polymer that helps formulators to create more natural hairstyle products for consumers.  

At the in-cosmetics Global event, Nouryon is not only launching Structure® M3 co-surfactant, but is also hosting innovation spotlight activities, including: 

  • Formulations Lab: Nouryon will share customized serum formulations during this session. In partnership with Safic-Alcan, Nouryon will guide R&D participants through the preparation of an anti-aging facial serum with its Amaze® XT styling polymer, Hydrovance® moisturizing agent, and Dissolvine® GL-47-S chelating agent on Tuesday, April 16 from 9:30-10:30am CET in Lab 1.  
  • Sustainability Zone: Nouryon will spotlight its sustainable Amaze® Nordic Barley with a presentation scheduled for Wednesday, April 17 from 11:30am – 12:00pm CET at the Sustainability Zone Theatre.
