About the job


The Green Bay Site produces both Expancel and Silica specialty chemical products. The Production Superintendent is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the assigned site. Responsibilities involve all aspects of the Production Department. The major functions of the Production Superintendent include administrative duties, technical assistance for the plant (process and product), project assignments, and maintenance coordination. Daily focus on plant production and plant troubleshooting is a basic tenant of the Production Department with the Superintendent having a lead role in resolving production issues.



In your future role as a Production Superintendent, you will:


  • Monitor plant production daily. Provide guidance, feedback, and direction to production as needed. Communicate production status at the daily production meeting.
  • Ensure production reporting is accurate.
  • Primary contact for production issues.
  • Coordinate scheduled maintenance and shutdowns between the production and maintenance departments.
  • Assist and implement production training.
  • Assist end of month reporting for in-process raw materials / intermediate / product.
  • Develop plant procedures as needed. Ensure procedures are accurate and updated.
  • Participate in plant HAZOPS for new or modified products.
  • Implement corrective actions for production department from various site programs (ISO audits, non-conformances, safety audits, etc.).
  • Lead and participate in production projects.
  • Have good communication and collaboration within and outside the production team.
  • Participate in promoting a safety culture at the site by following all safety protocols including Behavior Based Safety and reporting of incidents and hazards.
  • Be aware of potential health, safety, security, and environmental impacts and the actions required should an issue occur.
  • Work according to Green Bay site and Nouryon standards.
  • Handle all hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all company, state, federal, and local laws, and regulations. 


We believe you bring


  • High school degree minimum, preferably a bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field.
  • 3 - 10 years of experience in chemical plants.
  • Good people management skills.
  • Strong team skills to interact with various departments throughout the organization.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and steel toed shoes.
  • Able to read and write in English to document results and understand standard operating procedures, SDS, etc.
  • Ability to use a computer including standard Office programs and be trained in company required systems (DeltaV, SAP, MES, etc.)
  • Strong safety mindset


Great if you have  


  • Experience with Control Systems (Delta V) and SAP


Good to know

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Production Manager at the Green Bay, WI site.
