The Team Logistics Specialist is responsible for completion of daily end to end international shipment activities for the region.

About the job

The Team Logistics Specialist (Ocean shipping), Internally known as the Logistics Manager for Technology Solutions, is responsible for completion of daily modal logistics activities including shipment planning, executing, and monitoring including reporting and import/export documentation for international shipments according to defined processes.

 

In your future role as Team Logistics Specialist, you will

  • Translate business demand into concrete logistical solutions and improvements.
  • Carrier/ vendor relation management by a contact cycle, visit matrix, vendor mapping (tier structure) and risk analysis.
  • Carrier/ vendor performance management; accountable and responsible for CI projects with carriers/ vendors.
  • Collaborate with procurement & business stakeholders on tender process and optimization.
  • Maintain relationships with logistics providers, attend business reviews and ensure structural alignment between business and international logistics.
  • Support process improvement efforts. Supply chain development and optimization.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving operational challenges. Lead problem-solving initiatives, utilizing a proactive and decisive approach to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Monitor shipments and resolve exceptions as they arise.
  • Track and monitor logistics provider, customer, and organization logistics KPIs and cost performance.

 

We believe you bring                                                                     

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Logistics/ Supply Chain, or related field, or related field from 4-year accredited college or university preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics / supply chain. Experience with chemical companies is preferred.
  • Experience with carrier and custom broker relationship management and performance evaluations.
     

Great if you have

  • Ability to use data to support decision making and develop solutions to present to leaders.
  • Ability to support process improvement initiatives while balancing daily responsibilities.
  • Understanding of the modal transport market.
  • Able to work with some supervision.
  • Strong working knowledge and history of using computers and programs specific to logistics (SAP, TMS, WMS) and to general business management (MS Excel, Word). SAP knowledge is a pre.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in performing logistics activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and quickly develop a solution.
  • Experience with carrier relationship management and collaboration with Trade Compliance on new procedures, initiatives, regulations, and consequences for the business.
  • SME on ocean shipping, shipment acceptance, DG handling, IMO regulations.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
