About the job:

 

  •  Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching for the Global Equipment, Electrical and Instrumentation Sourcing Category Team.
  • Sub-categories of focus include:
  • MRO
  • Equipment/Transport
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Process Automation (PA) and Instrumentation
  • Lab Equipment

 

 

In your future role as a Global Category Leader – Equipment, Electrical, and Instrumentation, you will:

 

  • Provide global leadership engagement with key manufacturing stakeholders for the aligned categories.
  • Coordinate the global leveraging of best practices and work process discipline for the aligned categories.
  • Provide global leadership engagement with strategic suppliers to enable continued supplier relationship and capability development.
  • Work with key manufacturing leadership stakeholders to identify and deliver continuous improvements.
  • Lead the team in the delivery of procurement-related value delivery metrics, ensuring results are tracked via appropriate systems.
  • Drive working capital improvement.
  • Support implementation of identified work process changes.
  •  

Lead the team in:

  • The development and implementation of efficient sourcing and category management strategies.
  • Estimating risks and applying risk-minimizing techniques.
  • Implementation and improvement of standard sourcing processes, the required culture, and sourcing continuous improvement programs.
  • Identifying best practices and industry benchmarks.
  • Developing and maintaining in-depth market knowledge within areas of responsibility.
  • Researching and anticipating shifts in the negotiation power of suppliers.
  • Developing the organization to identify improvement areas, explore cost reduction opportunities, and establish a total cost of ownership approach internally and with external suppliers.
  • Actively working to improve commercial terms with suppliers, identifying ways to minimize spending and reduce costs to support the company’s financial objectives.
  • Actively working with key stakeholders in the businesses and ISC including manufacturing, engineering, and also finance, and other functions to build alignment around targets and establish common execution plans to support business growth and profitability improvement.
  • Representing Nouryon; building and maintaining a network of business contacts in support of organizational objectives; conducting business responsibly and ethically.
  • The development and implementation of sourcing strategies for products and services designed to support the identified business needs and in line with the Global Procurement strategy.
  • Collaboration with Nouryon’s India Service Center in support of Tail Spend (Low Spend) sourcing automation to ensure robust procurement support to Nouryon’s Manufacturing Sites.
  • Travel: 10%

 

 

We believe you bring:

 

  • University Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
  •  A minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement and/or operational roles.
  • Good understanding of the Supply Chain and Manufacturing functions: strategy, processes, systems, and organization.
  • Experience (direct/indirect) dealing with sales and customer service organizations.
  • Change management: managing improvement programs with diverse teams as well as the cultural aspects of the change to be delivered.
  • Strong Project management experience with lean management methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Experience in Sourcing including Strategic Sourcing Methodology and contract management.
  • Experience in either direct or indirect global leadership.

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Global NPR Director and based in Houston, TX.
