About the job

The Maintenance Scheduler develops, communicates, and maintains a workable schedule to balance work requirements and site priorities across production needs and maintenance resource constraints. They also ensure schedules meet production priorities, and are optimized across the entire site.
 

 

In your future role as Maintenance Scheduler, you will

  • Facilitate weekly scheduling meeting with Gate Keeper(s).

  • Develop weekly schedules based on negotiated production unit priorities and current business environment to optimize the use of site wide available resources and/or contractors.

  • Ensure appropriate scheduling logic including amount of preventative maintenance work vs. corrective work.

  • Publish and update daily and weekly schedules to impacted work groups.

  • Adjust schedules to accommodate changing production priorities or available resources (actual redirection of resources done by maintenance supervisor generally as this person ends up scheduling the mechanics).

  • Ensuring timely call-off of materials and services.

  • Calls off special services, contractors and special tools as described by planner and/or contractors for peak coverage in case high amount of urgent work does not allow deferring.

  • Monitoring and tracking weekly schedule compliance, and publishing results cross-site.

  • Providing feedback to planners on quality of job plan detail and logic.

  • Providing reports on resource utilization and providing input into any staffing changes that may be necessary based on historical trends and forecasts.

 

We believe you bring

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma with three (3) years of experience in plant and/or maintenance operations, OR

  • Associate's Degree in a technical or related field with two (2) years of experience in plant and/or maintenance operations, OR

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field with one (1) year of experience in plant and/or maintenance operations.

 

Strong Plus:

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in Maintenance or as a Maintenance Scheduler.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in SAP-PM is highly desired.

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Self-directed with the ability to work autonomously while fulfilling responsibilities with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic, dedication, and flexibility to work the necessary hours to complete tasks.

  • Ability to impact and influence others, persuading them toward a particular course of action.

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent at our site in Morris, IL.
