This is a unique opportunity to shape the quality strategy for one of Nouryon’s strategic global product lines, supporting expansion while working with manufacturing sites and customers globally.
As CMC Quality Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving and maintaining site certifications that support the continued growth of our CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose) business. In this highly cross-functional role, you will bring together colleagues from different departments, align stakeholders around common objectives, and ensure everyone is moving in the same direction.
• Lead and maintain key certifications and quality standards, including ISO 9001, GMP, EXCiPACT, EFfCI, FSSC 22000 ensuring continued compliance and supporting the growth of our CMC business in highly regulated markets.
• Define and drive the global quality strategy for Nouryon's CMC portfolio, ensuring products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and market requirements.
• Act as the central quality contact for the CMC business, connecting Business, Manufacturing, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality teams to align priorities and drive execution.
• Champion a proactive quality culture by promoting quality ownership, risk management, continuous improvement, and compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
• Ensure an effective and efficient Quality Management System (QMS), driving audit readiness, management reviews, internal audits, and the timely resolution of compliance gaps.
• Partner with commercial and operational teams to support new product introductions, process improvements, market development initiatives, and customer-specific requirements.
• Lead investigations into quality incidents, customer complaints, and non-conformances, ensuring robust root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
• Serve as a trusted quality partner for key customers, supporting audits, quality agreements, and initiatives that strengthen customer confidence in Nouryon as a supplier.
• Monitor quality performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive initiatives that enhance compliance, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
• Influence and align stakeholders across functions, bringing people together around shared objectives and ensuring critical quality and certification initiatives move forward effectively.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferred) in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Quality, or a related technical discipline.
• 7-10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or Operations within the chemical, pharmaceutical, personal care, consumer products, food, or specialty materials industries, preferably gained in a global multinational environment.
• Proven experience leading and maintaining plant quality certifications and Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing environment, with strong knowledge of e.g. ISO 9001, GMP requirements, EXCiPACT, IPEC requirements.
• Demonstrated experience managing quality systems, audits, investigations, CAPA processes, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and business requirements.
• Experience working with customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies, with the ability to build strong relationships and effectively manage stakeholders.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies, quality improvement tools, quality systems software, ERP systems, data analytics tools, data integrity requirements, and ALCOA+ principles.
• A strategic thinker with a strong quality mindset and with strong business acumen.
• A strong problem solver with solid decision-making skills.
• An effective communicator with excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Customer-focused in your approach.
• Driven to lead change and continuous improvement initiatives.
• A collaborative team player with a service-oriented mindset and a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
• An employment contract for an indefinite period
• A competitive gross annual salary ranging from EUR 116,500 to EUR 145,600 based on your experience, skills and qualifications.

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to Haider Akram, Product Director Paints and Coatings, and is based in Amsterdam.
