Regional Tolling Project Specialist

The Regional Tolling Project Specialist is responsible for establishing and continually improving third-party product supply using external assets in the region. Tolling involves manufacturing services provided by a contractor for a fee, which may include processes like chemical reactions, blending, mixing, packaging, and more.

About the job  

 
The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding Nouryon’s manufacturing footprint by leveraging Tolling to enhance capacity and regional capabilities.  

With around 100 active Tolling suppliers globally, Tolling represents 3-4%provides a important share of Nouryon’s volume, making it a crucial function for swift responses to market changes and new product introductions. The role requires a strategic focus on third-party manufacturing, stewardship, and sustainability, with strong alignment to business objectives and proactive communication to ensure optimized cost and streamlined supply chain management. 

 

In your future role as Regional Tolling Project Specialist, you will 

  • Maintain and develop professional competency aligned with industry and Nouryon standards. 

  • Manage all aspects of major project work, including new Toller identification, assessment, setup, and qualification. 

  • Oversee technology transfer and support, ensuring the protection of Nouryon’s Intellectual Property. 

  • Coordinate and participate in technical setup and trial/start-up activities for Tolling operations. 

  • Manage support from stakeholders and resources like Product Management, Marketing, Technology, R&D, Production, Maintenance, R&D, and Engineering. 

  • Ensure compliance with HSE, quality standards, and Sustainability Practices for Tolling operations. 

  • Identify and coordinate training for personnel and support technical needs for NPI and improvement projects. 

  • Maintain accurate Bill of Materials and process documentation for Tolled products. 

  • Perform regular yield and raw material reconciliation and support cost analysis. 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data collection for regulatory submissions and LCA (Carbon Footprint) calculations. 

  • This role requires 5 days onsite work.

 

We believe you bring 

  • Preferably B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering or related technology degree. 

  • 3-8 years of project management and/or process experience in a plant environment. 

  • Practical knowledge of chemistry, plant production, equipment, finance, supply chain, and data analysis. 

  • Critical Thinking capability. 

  • Proficient in Excel and SAP (Production Planning, Quality Modules). 

  • Effective communication skills and willingness to travel.

  • Teamwork, relationship building, and effective communication across different organizational levels. 

  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are preferred.
